Vaginal Itching SXT 136

I had a teacher in secondary school who used to scratch a lot in front of the class. It was very funny and sometimes embarrassing to us students but it must have been humiliating for her. Most women have experienced vagina itch at some point in their lives especially after puberty.
It is a common complain at the gynecology clinic and most people who have health workers as friends would have asked a question or two about this problem.

Guys call it "sweetie" when they itch their own groin persistently especially when due to an infection. I guess it is called that name because the more you itch the more you want to continue itching till you bruise the area. Permit me to call vaginal itching "sweetie" in this article, its more fun.

Vaginal pruritus (a.k.a itching) is a tingling or uneasy irritation of the skin of the vagina and the surrounding area . Most sweetie feelings are minor issues but sometimes may indicate a serious problem. For example if a child has it, it may be due to pin worm...I hope you know that pin worm infection is precancerous? Yep! so have the child checked out and properly treated. More causes of sweetie include medicated soaps (kills the protective organisms in the vagina), some sprays, creams, vagina douching , menopause, obesity, genital cancer, yeast infection (candidiasis), other vaginitis and infections, diabetes, bed wetting (or urinary incontinence) and stress (reduces your immunity).

If you have vaginal itching with discharge (watery, or cheesy), please see a physician or first try using over the counter creams or suppositories like canesten. Complications of these infections can be grave, so insist on expert care at all times.

You can prevent sweetie by
1.avoiding moist clothings and underwear
2.wipe your a*s from front to back so you don't contaminate the vagina
3. include dairy products like yoghurt into your diet
4. have your blood sugar checked and controlled
5.clean up after sex (don't leave sperm in there, it contains a type of sugar called fructose)
6.treat infections as quickly as possible
7. have sex like you want but with one partner(stop mixing juices from different people)
8.exercise for fitness and weight loss
9.hormonal replacement for menopausal women
10.sex abstinence during the course of an infection.

And please stop digging in public.....I am not referring to you, yes you!
